Ten years after leaving Eagle Pass and the Texas/Mexico border, AJ Hausman returned to work in a family business started by his grandfather, which at that time only sold four different products. The Hausman family has been in the meat business for many years, and in 1976, AJ and other members of his family created a wholesale meat company, which is now known as Almacenes de Tejas. Today, AJ continues to serve as the president and CEO of the company while maintaining many responsibilities including export trading, export sales, and meat distribution. He has several years of higher education, with a BBA from Texas A&M University and a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. AJ has been married for 28 years and has three wonderful children.
